It’s about 10.30 in the morning here and I was up and engrossed in our star filled sky in the middle of the night.
Some of the stars were very close and equally bright. The sky was hard to leave and this morning the whole island would be hard to leave, with blue sky, a very calm sea and the landscape of the island in every colour of the rainbow and more.
I think this will now continue all day and evening, perhaps with a bit more of the moon ? But who knows, this is nature personified and Mothernature is usually the boss around here !!
Well it was wild here overnight and still wild now at 11.0clock. But the sun is above us and the wind is decreasing I think !!
It’s what makes the Hebridean Islands so special of course with its very diverse scenery and challenging climate.
What can beat a walk with your partner on one of our powder white beaches, no matter the weather ? In fact the wilder it is the more romantic the experience !! So come on and dip at least your toes in the cleanest water you could find anywhere in Europe, along with the purest healthy air after that city pollution
Well it’s 5.17 pm and there is a wonderful lemon sky stretching the length of the south of Mull and Iona just I like another one of those Turner Paintings which we see so
Going right is a deeper and dazzling yellow sky which will probably new set over Northern Mull and the Isle of Coll.
It is also dry, and very calm with no wind as yet this evening, but what will be will be !!
I was very pleased yesterday as each customer was really up for the day… and never mind the weather !!
The best sightings were probably of a female otter with two cubs by Gribbun cliffs. While watching this we had a good lunch but we had home made tarts at the house.
As we cruised down Loch Scridain going toward Craignure and the ferry, we had a good view of a White Tailed Sea Eagle going the other way and we also had great northern divers on Loch na Keale among lots of small waves and white horses.
I hope my customers enjoyed my diversion of singing along with my John Denver CD’s !!!!!!!
Well it may only be 2.30 right now but its been another terrific start. Yes a bit breezy but very warm in the sun, here on my decking.
I think we must be due another one of mother natures sunsets early evening.
By the way I stepped outside last night and there above me was around 9 stars looking very bright and very very close !!! and with another huge number of them higher in the sky.
From early morning we have had misty drizzly weather. Until now at 7.30 and the rain has cleared and the sun is going to set heading for The North of Mull.
The skyline is dark but now dappled with golden strands of colour and it may mean that we are going to have a much better day tomorrow.
Lets hope so
Wrong again from the BBC with the weather then and was sunshine and showers which is the best weather for looking for wildlife.
We had a number of White Tailed Sea Eagles and lots of other birds on the National Scenic Area along with a hundred visual effects between land mountains and sea.
Simply stunning right now at 4.15 with another top sunset in another hour.
It might be that Mother Nature thinks it is Sunday as she has her best dress on today. Serenity is the word for this morning and her dress sense,of terrific colours
There is one of those golden skies above Iona and its grey low horizon
The very calm sea is dappled grey white and blue and whatever you look at is crystal clear and very sharp if onlookers have their cameras available.
in short then it all looks very tropical, in fact ‘very’ tropical, as it all peeks through trees and islets in the foreground
Southern Mull is now scattered with big gold and grey clouds steadily rising into the sky.
Magic then as usual here on such days. Enjoy, if you are already here, otherwise cancel your other plans and head as west as you can go, soon !! Don’t forget the Sunbloc because rhe atmosphere is so very clear that you can burn without realising it.
Yes it was a truly dark morning at 6 o’clock, as I drove down Loch na Keal and heading for the ferry to Oban and an appointment to sign some documents.
I missed the early ferry !! However after lunch and heading back from Oban it turned into a glorious sunny day and here at 7.50 pm we still have one of those big sunsets setting it self up for its climax of colour.
Mull is forever entertaining. Never assume that if it is sunny it will stay that way and if it is raining be ready for the sun to come out !!!.
It is 8.15 and already a very colourful day here at Ulva Ferry on the west coast of The Island of Mull.
We are from now expecting the odd big shower and bright sunny weather in between.
In short, for a few days at least it is going to look beautiful here and once more very good for wildlife action and photography
